SO, WHAT EXACTLY IS TRAVEL NURSING?

Welcome to the new OneStaff Medical blog. We have so much exciting information to share with you! But before we start, we thought we should answer this very important question first: What is a travel nurse?

For our veteran travel nurses, the answer is obvious, since you live it every day. But we also understand that the market is full of nurses who have never traveled or those who are just starting their career and may not be aware such an option exists. If you fit either of these categories, then this blog is for you.

A travel nurse is …

A travel nurse is a nurse who signed a contract to work in a certain location for a short period of time, commonly 13-26 weeks. These nurses are referred to as travel nurses because most come from out of state to fulfill this contract, and when the term is finished, they get to travel again.

Travel nurses fill a very important role in our health care system. They help in areas with nursing shortages and they also can help fill gaps when an area’s need is simply too great.

In addition to the help they provide, travel nursing also offers plenty of advantages for the nurse. You can read about many of them here, but one perk that we hear veteran travel nurses constantly mention is the freedom. You see, when you’re a travel nurse, you can pick when you work and where. What could be better than that?

OK, I understand what a travel nurse does, but what does OneStaff Medical do?

When you partner with us, we’ll provide a detailed list of all the job opportunities available to you. It’s that easy, so contact us today and we can help you take your first steps into the exciting world of travel nursing!
